It hides with its family and another Jewish family (the van Daan), in a attic of some warehouses of Amsterdam during the Nazi occupation of Holland. Ana Frankcon Thirteen years old, she says in her diary, to which she called "Kitty", the life of the group. Aided by several employees of the office, they remained for more than two years in the Achterhuis (known as "the Secret Annex") until they were finally betrayed and detained. Ana wrote a diary between June 12, 1942 and August 1, 1944. On August 4, 1944, some neighbors (names are unknown) betray the eight hidden in "The house in the back". In addition to the newspaper he wrote several stories that have been published gradually since 1960. Her sister, Margot Frank also wrote a diary, but never found any traces of it. After staying for a while in the concentration camps of Westerbork in Holland and Auschwitzen Poland, Ana and her older sister, Margot, were deported to Bergen-Belsen, where they both died during a typhus epidemic between the end of February and mid-march of 1945 (typhus was caused by the extreme lack of hygiene in the concentration camp). Edith Holländer (mother of Margot and Ana) dies of starvation in the concentration camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau. Hermann van Pels (one of the eight hidden) was sent on September 6, 1944 to the gas chambers of Auschwitz, where he died weeks later. His wife, Auguste van Pels, dies in mid-April 1945 in the concentration camp of Theresienstadt. Peter van Pels dies on May 5, 1945, three days before the release. In how much to Fritz Pfeffer, he died in the concentration camp of Neuengamme, on December 20, 1944. The newspaper is published for the first time under the title Het Achterhuis (the House of Back) in Holland, in 1947, by the editor contact. In April 1955 the first Spanish translation was published with the title The Back Rooms (editorial Garbo, Barcelona). So the diary of Anne Frank is a unique testimony in her genre about the horror and Nazi barbarity, and the feelings and experiences of Ana herself and her companions. Ana died in the field of Bergen-Belsen in March 1945. His diary will never die.
