The title already indicates clearly the content of the novel. Fits within the genre of picaresque novel, a genre popular in the 17TH century, started the previous century by the Lazarillo de Tormes, by an unknown author.

As for the structure, the book is divided into three parts and a total of 23 chapters. It is a relatively short novel. This Edition, the editorial Chair has more than three hundred pages, but if we ignore the introduction and the numerous footnotes, the work itself would be us reduced to a third.

A classic of Spanish literature. We must highlight the comic features that appear in it, but it is above all a social critique: aims to demonstrate the impossibility of social ascent. Pablos wants to be anything else and thus reveals itself on several occasions, but all their attempts to improve fail. Also it must be said that, despite the brevity, it is not easy to read by the use of words and expressions of the time currently costing to understand.
